Consequently, most of hospital rooms have no window and they are separated from outdoor space. If we define the term “health” as a recovering naturalness, the current typical hospital design that separates the man from nature is ironically a total opposite to the original goal of hospital. Hospital with nature newly opened Kangbuk Samsung Hospital Total Healthcare Center was designed to improve current architectural problems of hospitals. In order to achieve this goal, we wanted the hospital be more resort or hotel-like instead of a typical hospital by introducing many aspects of natural elements, such as water, earth, tree and wind at the numerous public space; the lobby, reception hall, and rest area.

This is Fishman Shade Canopy to results from a research Benjamin Hall and Brent Vander Werf’s with solstice solar angels, located in Palo Alto – California. the studying to create a site specific geometric strategy where the canopy provides 100% shade while maintaining a visual opacity. This prototype builds upon experiments conducted throughout Hall’s Capstone project at the University of Arizona, a few years ago. After developing a warp and weft system of structural shade members, the next step of the project was to manifest those findings in a full-scale built project. and than the materials shade canopy is wooden components’ angels and orientations are adjusted to precisely respond to the latitude of the specific project’s site. This strategy guarantees full shade, and the design does not hinder views of the sky or landscape.

The Formwerks Architects working on a project house in singapore with an area 370 sqm, duration of 12 months and budged of $1.2 million. The house adopts a highly introverted stance, seeking to dissociate with its adjoining neighbour or for that matter the street. Strategically, the main fenestration looks to the side while other parts of the house are ventilated and lit indirectly through surgical openings. This effectively fortifies the spaces within from unwelcome gaze while allowing valuable day lighting and ventilation.
One of the greatest challenges was the roof form due to the multitude of programmatic and urban planning demands. We adopted the double-pitched roof to accommodate the family lounge in the attic with the front roof splaying away from the party wall to open out for the roof terrace and pool.
